Joining a new club and committing to a healthier lifestyle can be daunting and perhaps a little intimidating. But your first contact with a fitness and wellbeing environment should be the opposite: exciting, engaging and motivating. In fact, your first days as a member are critical in the way you will experience the club going forward, which has implications in the performance and results you will reach down the line.

Which is why, our teams of wellbeing experts have developed innovative services dedicated to new members, ensuring you have the right tools and the necessary information to get the most of your membership from the very beginning. Here are some of the things you can now expect from your first days at Aspria.

1. An enhanced onboarding process that you control

In our drive to digitalise services and enhance our members’ experience, we have transformed our one-off orientation session at the Club into a series of short introductory videos, available as soon as you become a member. The benefit is that all the information you would otherwise try to absorb in one go is now accessible online, anytime, anywhere - and you can go back to it as often as you like.

Given our vast range of services and member benefits, these onboarding videos provide useful guidance through your first day at the Club - from practical details about parking on the premises, using your membership card and accessing the lockers, to the most efficient ways to begin your favourite sporting activity – or perhaps explore a new one, depending on your interests. You also get introduced to useful members-only resources, and to the different ways you can be part of the member community – from social and networking events to the Aspria Works programme and sporting tournaments.

2. A fitness induction for every goal

Earlier this summer, we launched a programme that redefined the way members begin their fitness training at the Club. A far cry from the usual, generic gym inductions, our Fitness Department developed a comprehensive series of small group sessions called Discovery Workshops.

Their focus is on personalisation: catering to all experience levels, covering everything from basic movements and equipment introductions to advanced techniques. And, according to your specific goal, you can choose your preferred option from 4 main training styles: Cardio, Resistance, Flexibility and Functional. Or you can explore all of them. “There is no limit. Members can level up and down in every category. We recommend that they follow as many as they need to feel confident in their workout”, advises Florent Rivault, Wellbeing Manager at Aspria Royal La Rasante.

The various 30-minute workshops are bookable on the myAspria app as soon as you activate your member account, making it a natural first step in setting up your fitness routine at the Club. In the 11 weeks since our launch, we already delivered 448 sessions across our Clubs. According to Florent, “members enjoy the sense of autonomy the workshops provide, and find they can now incorporate a lot more fitness equipment in their workouts”.

This is exactly the aim of the programme: to provide beginners with the necessary foundation to train on their own using the equipment available in the fitness area, or later participating in group exercise classes. While more experienced individuals, who already know the kind of workout they prefer, can learn more complex training methods, and receive expert recommendations.

3. Ongoing training support at your fingertips

The Discovery Workshops are a useful resource, but they are only the beginning. Transferring the gained knowledge into practice is an essential part of your first weeks at the Club. So, to help you consolidate a proper workout routine based on your preferred training style, we are also providing a collection of pre-set workouts that you can follow on the myAspria app, any time you are in the gym.

The workout sequences perfectly complement the Workshops, and can be filtered depending on the goal you are setting for yourself. The various training options available, ranging from endurance exercises to free weights workouts, and from bodyweight functional circuits to stretching, ensure you remain inspired and motivated as you work out independently.
